Morgan Leigh became a professional dancer with the Augusta Ballet at the young age of 16, training under NYCB Prima Ballerina, Zann Colton. Her love for dance education, performance, and choreography grew as she continued to train and dance professionally with companies such as Joffrey Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, Gainesville Ballet, Julliard, and American Ballet Theater.
In 2006, Morgan earned her B.F.A. in dance from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga. and later on went to obtain her M.F.A. in dance in 2014 from Texas Woman’s University. While and further after obtaining her M.F.A., Morgan served as an Artistic Director and Ballet Mistress of a North Texas Dance Studio.
Over the course of her career, Morgan has performed in corps de ballet and lead roles in performances such as The Nutcracker, Dracula, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and Raymonda. Additionally, she has performed in a variety of modern dance works with Zoetic Dance Company and Grid Dance Theater. As a choreographer, Morgan has been featured at the South Eastern Regional Ballet Conference, American College Dance Festival, Ballet Fest Atlanta, Denton Ballet Festival, 254 Dance Festival, and Houston Fringe Festival where she won the Director’s Choice Award for choreography.
Morgan is currently the founder and owner of Barton Hollow Contemporary Dance Company and continues to teach residencies in ballet, modern, and compositional technique. She is also an active member of the dance community in the North Texas area where she continues to perform and choreograph original work.
Katrina Brown is a performer, teacher, and choreographer in the North Texas area. She is trained in many dance forms such as ballet, tap, jazz,contemporary, modern, lyrical, and hip hop. Her experience has mostly come from being a top company member at various dance studios in North Texas and earning regional and national titles from various competitions and conventions from around the country. Not only does she hold awards for performance and entertainment, but she has also been recognized for her choreography at both a regional and national level. Katrina has also had the honor of performing in Branson, Missouri’s acclaimed Kidz Roc with Don Mirault and Joey Doucette from Doucette Entertainment and in the 2012 Los Angeles Carnival Choreographer’s Ball as a part of Lindsey Blaufarb and Craig Hollamon’s piece. She is currently a performing artist with Barton Hollow Contemporary Dance Company and Simple Sparrow Dance Company. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to pursue her passion for teaching.
Brandon Chase McGee began dancing in Wichita, KS at Wichita Children’s Theater and Dance Center and Ballet Wichita under Jill Landrith. He attended the University of North Texas in Denton. Mr. McGee continued his local dance training with Kirt Hathaway, Kathy Chamberlain, Dallas Black Dance Theater II, and the Alvin Ailey School. He has performed the work of Sandra Organ, Beth Brown, Allyne Gartrell, Christopher Huggins, Troy Powell, Chet Walker and Alvin Ailey. He is a former member of Dallas Black Dance Theater II, Uptown Dance Company, and the Sandra Organ Dance Company. He has been blessed with the opportunity to perform extensively nationwide and abroad.
Marisa first fell in love with dancing at Wayne Ballet and Centre for Dance Arts in Wayne, Pennsylvania. She continued her pre-professional training with Brandywine Ballet in West Chester, Pennsylvania. While there, she studied under teachers from Pittsburgh Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet, as well as performed works by George Balanchine. After high school, Marisa decided to pursue a career in dance. She continued her training with American Repertory Ballet, where she attended their trainee program for two years. She performed in Douglas Martins A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rite of Spring, and The Nutcracker. In the summer of 2016, she received her teaching certification through American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum. Marisa then joined The Montgomery Ballet. While with them, she performed as Clara in The Nutcracker, Canary Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, and Odalisque in Le Corsaire. Marisa is very excited to begin her career in the Dallas area, and to share her knowledge and experience with each of her students.
Nikolas Bermea (Niko) is a Hip/Hop & Contemporary Dancer/Choreographer from Austin, TX. In July of 2015, his Family relocated to Austin, and Niko was immediately immersed in the Dance Industry by joining the Electrolytze Dance Crew through Evolution Dance Center. Due to his love and interest for dance, Niko quickly became one of the most highly-recognized and sought-out Hip-Hop artist in the Austin-Metro area. By early 2016, Niko was hosting a series of Master Classes within the South Texas, Northeast Texas, and Southwest Arkansas areas. Also in 2016, Niko joined Evolve Dance Company (Contemporary/ Lyrical Dance Styles) and eStreet Hip-Hop Company. By the end of the competition season, Niko had received numerous awards and scholarships with 8 National Talent, Intrigue Dance, Adrenaline Dance, The Streetz Dance, and ultimately received the 2nd Runner-Up Dancer of the Year Award and a Streetz Assistant position with The Streetz Dance. Niko continues to host Hip-Hop and Contemporary Master Classes throughout and the States of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. In May of 2016, Niko was recognized by the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Award Association for his choreography of the musical “In the Heights”. Niko is currently studying Dance at TWU and has recently become a member of UNT-FSA Choreo-Block.
